The Zonnebloem Schools Festival – 2018

In May, I worked alongside the Otto Foundation Trust to create and execute the inaugural Zonnebloem Schools Festival. A festival that will not only be an annual fundraiser for the under-resourced schools on Zonnebloem College Estate, but will be a day for the entire community to come together and have fun.

I directed all the logistics for this event which included sourcing all structural suppliers (fencing, tenting, toilets) as well as service providers (security, bar and food vendors, trading vendors, ticketing vendors). We had nearly 2000 people at the event who enjoyed various activities such as face painting, balloon modelling, food trucks, toy shops, various stalls to shop at, as well as our amazing entertainment line-up.

We couldn’t have done this without all our partners and suppliers who donated so much or their time, infrastructure and services so we could create this wonderful day.

Looking forward to next year!

Cointreau Creative Crew – 2017

The Cointreau Creative Crew was launched in South Africa in 2016 as a platform to encourage inspiring and talented women from across the country to believe in their ambitions and dreams and bring them to life, standing a chance to win a grant worth R100,000.00.

Fast forward a year later to April 2017, I was brought in by The Friday Street Club to put together the awards evening to celebrate the Cointreau Creative Crew finalists, the judges who were a part of the campaign, and of course announce the winner.

Cheapflights Travel Awards – 2016

By November 2016, tens of thousands of South Africans had voted online for the winners of the inaugural Cheapflights Travel Awards in a campaign run by The Friday Street Club. The awards ceremony was held at East City Studios in Cape Town where the travel industry converged to see who came out on top in each category.

My role was to produce all required logistics in the three weeks leading up to the event and then run the event on the night until strike was completed. Service providers managed by me included AV technical, catering, bar, staffing, photography, decor, cleaning and venue.

Guests arrived and got to enjoy the stunning location over a glass of wine and delicious canapes by Escoffier. Activators were roaming the venue with ipads, allowing guests to interact with the Cheapflights app. MC Jennifer Sanasie welcomed the guests and introduced guest speaker Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism. Lastly, Andrew Shelton, MD of Cheapflights, came on stage to start the awards proceedings and announce all the winners.

This event was a great success, and loads of fun to manage. It always helps when the team is such a pleasure to work with especially new suppliers that go above and beyond to impress and satisfy us and ultimately, the client.
