My introduction into event management was completely random. I had an incredible start to my career at Real Concerts, working there was enriching in so many ways. It illustrated the event lifecycle to me for the first time – the months of organisation that culminate in just one day. The emotions that are being experienced – first by the guests, and then by you. The instant gratification as the guests respond, and then you know immedietely how successful you have been. I fell in love with that feeling.
Whether it is an arena show, a launch, an awards evening or two, a brand activation, a birthday party or a wedding, that feeling still exists. There are always many small elements that need to be collated to create an experience. The job requires attention to detail and severe organisation.
I now have nearly a decade of varied events experience and I find it so much more rewarding to continue to keep my work diverse. Not sticking to one thing inspires me and keeps me on my toes, ensures it never gets boring.
