The Cointreau Creative Crew was launched in South Africa in 2016 as a platform to encourage inspiring and talented women from across the country to believe in their ambitions and dreams and bring them to life, standing a chance to win a grant worth R100,000.00.
Fast forward a year later to April 2017, I was brought in by The Friday Street Club to put together the awards evening to celebrate the Cointreau Creative Crew finalists, the judges who were a part of the campaign, and of course announce the winner.
My role was to produce all required logistics in the month leading up to the event and then run the event on the night from set-up until strike. Service providers managed by me included venue (catering & bar), lighting, photography and floral.
On the morning of the event, we held a brunch for the Cointreau Creative Crew in The Stack dining room, where we got to network and learn more about each person’s amazing initiatives. Later that night, the awards ceremony was held upstairs in the exclusive members lounge. This eccentric, bold and creative venue was the perfect arena in which to accommodate a group of similarly described women.
Guests arrived at 6pm sharp, enjoyed a selection of Cointreau Fizz cocktails, mingled and enjoyed a few custom designed canapés. Soon after, the Cointreau Creative Crew judges and finalists were introduced to the crowd. We had a small break to enjoy a Cointreau cocktail designed by chef Sue-Ann Allen, another selection of canapés and then went into the awards ceremony, announcing the winner of the R100,000.00 grant, won by the incredible Outliers. At the end of the evening, guests left with a Cointreau goodie bag including a very stylish ombre macaron trio.
